Department Sponsored Student Organizations are similar to Recognized Student Organization by are housed, funded by, and regulated by a campus department. These types of organizations offer students the same opportunities for engagement, community building, and leadership experience as RSOs but have a closer relationship to a campus department in founding, organization, funding, and daily operations.

Mission
The Health Education Advocacy & Resource Team (HEART) are currently enrolled students at Berea College who have been certified through NASPA and available to:

1. Provide you with lessons plans, support, and presentations that address all dimensions of wellness, including sexual wellness such as:
"Taking Care of Your Sexual Health"
"Yums, Yucks, Boundaries, and Deal Breakers"
"Enthusiastic Consent"
"Breaking Up is Hard to Do"
and MORE!

2. Provide one-on-one, peer-to-peer support sessions with students regarding behavior change for improved health and stress management.

3. Help promote/market your wellness-oriented programs.

4. Connect you with individuals, groups, and offices on and off campus for resources and potential collaborations.

5. Create collective awareness campaigns regarding the health and wellness of Berea College campus.

They also provide training once each semester for students who are interested in becoming certified peer health educators (CPEs) and part of the HEART team.
